Welcome to Marazion MayoShinDo Karate club. We are located at the hall at Marazion School, which is on School Lane just off the main road through the village. It is handy for Penzance, Crowlas and surrounding villages. We focus mainly on karate and self defence but also practice Ju-Judo. Students can gain valuable knowledge of our style and improve technique, fitness, confidence, and discipline among others. We are a friendly club and like all other MayoShinDo clubs it is run in a non-intimidating way. We welcome all newcomers regardless of sex, ability or age.
The club was started in 2002 by Clint Hosking, with training taking place at All Saints Church Hall. After about 12 months the club moved to its current venue at Marazion School. Clint left the club in 2011 due to work commitments and Denzil Searle took over the running. Denzil started training at the University of Warwick in 1988. He came back in 2001 after a long gap to train with Clive Double (now 7th Dan) in Sennen and is currently a 4th Dan Black Belt. Denzil is a design engineer by profession and is also an archery coach.
Learn the importance of self-defence, self-discipline, self-protection and social engagement.
